Wales: Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Capital Investment 2024-25
In March 2024, the Minister for Climate Change agreed the schemes which would make up the 2024-25 Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme. These schemes led by Local Authorities and Natural Resources Wales aim to reduce the risk from flooding and/or coastal erosion to homes across Wales.
This map shows the approximate locations of the schemes where funding has been allocated for the 2024-25 financial year.

Whilst this funding has been allocated for these schemes, it is for the relevant Risk Management Authority (Local Authorities and Natural Resources Wales) to progress and deliver these scheme.
Funding to progress to construction is subject to completion and agreement of an appropriate business case and obtaining relevant permissions and consents.
Costs remain estimates until the work has been tendered.

Natural Flood Management Accelerator programme
The two-year NFM Accelerator programme follows a Programme for Government commitment to deliver nature-based flood management solutions across all major river catchments.
The programme will help Risk Management Authorities work together with Welsh farmers, landowners and third sector organisations on nature-based solutions that reduce flood risk.
