The Metal Mine Impacted Waterbodies in Wales contains waterbodies and its lengths which have been affected by metal mine, either through direct or diffuse pollution. The data is collected to show the extent of downstream impacts of metal mine pollution. It should be noted that this dataset is collected in 2022. As remediation works continue, the number and length of waterbodies impacted may change.

Metal Mine Impacted Waterbodies in Wales: The dataset is based on Failing Waterbodies Report 2020 by the Coal Authority. The report listed waterbodies and confidence level (high, medium or low) that impacts on them are caused by metal mines. This dataset is checked by the team from Metal Mine Programme to include waterbodies which are considered to be significantly impacted by metal mines.
