Territorial Sea Limit

The limit of the UK territorial sea is 12 nautical miles from the baselines determined by the Territorial Sea (Baselines) Order 2014 in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Exclusive Economic Zone

An area of the sea, as prescribed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), in which a sovereign state has special rights regarding the exploration and use of marine resources, including energy production from water and wind.
