- Abstract
A Tree Preservation Order (TPO) is put in place to preserve trees which are considered worthy of special protection, on account of their amenity value. Legislation enables a planning authority to make a Tree Preservation Order to protect trees specified individually, as a group, by reference to an area of land, or as a woodland. This data represents individual trees, groups of trees, woodlands and areas of trees as polygons.
