We are upgrading DataMapWales to ensure it continues to provide a reliable, accessible and modern platform for publishing and exploring spatial data in Wales.

The BETA site allows users to explore the new version of DataMapWales while the current version remains available. Running both sites in parallel gives users the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the improvements and provide feedback before the upgraded platform fully replaces the existing service.

Why are we upgrading?

DataMapWales is an important service used across Wales to access and share spatial data. The upgrade ensures the platform remains secure, reliable and able to meet evolving user needs.

It also provides a refreshed user experience and a stronger foundation for future improvements.

What’s different between the current site and BETA?

While both sites provide access to DataMapWales content, there are some differences during the BETA phase.

• Data on the BETA site may not always reflect the most up-to-date version available.
• The current DataMapWales site remains the authoritative source of data during the BETA period.
