Active Travel Network Map (ATNM) Update 2026

Background Information

Swansea Council is currently updating its Active Travel Network Map (ATNM).

The ATNM sets out the existing network of walking, wheeling, and cycling routes across the county, as well as proposed future routes for development and improvement.

Last year, we held a 6-week public consultation to invite your views on how the network could be improved. We received 548 responses from residents, stakeholders, and community groups – thank you to everyone who took the time to share their ideas.

All feedback has been carefully reviewed and has helped shape a range of updates to the map, including the following changes to future routes:

  • 34 routes added
  • 37 routes either removed entirely or a section removed
  • 29 routes extended or realigned
