Have Your Say on Walking, Wheeling and Cycling in Swansea!

We’re updating Swansea’s Active Travel Network Map (ATNM) – and we want to hear from you!

Whether you walk, wheel, or cycle, your feedback will help improve everyday routes across our communities.

What is the ATNM?

The ATNM shows existing routes and highlights future routes planned for upgrades or development over the next 15 years. It’s part of a Wales-wide effort to make local journeys healthier and more sustainable, supported by the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013.

Why is it being updated?

All Welsh councils are required to regularly review and improve their active travel network of routes. Improvements may include creating new routes or upgrading existing ones. For example, resurfacing paths, widening footways, or adding features like dropped kerbs and tactile paving to improve accessibility.

Swansea’s current map was approved in 2022 – now it’s time to update it to reflect recent progress and plan for the future, with your input.

Why does your feedback matter?

Each year, Swansea Council can apply for funding to improve routes shown on the ATNM. If a route isn’t on the map, it can’t be funded – so your views help make sure the routes that matter most to you are included.

How to take part:

  1. Zoom in on the map to find the location or route you want to comment on.
  2. Click to drop a pin, then fill out a short survey.

Please note: The map may take a few moments to load.

All data will be held securely, and no results will be published in a way in which you could be identified. The privacy policy can be found on Privacy notice - Swansea. Please do not include any personal details in your responses.
