<p>Metal Mines records locations of disused metal mines in Wales with each being represented by centre point of the site. The dataset is collected to display the locations of metal mines which can be used in conjunction with other datasets to provide a better understanding of the area. They have also been attributed with a "Failing Water Body" status (Amber or Red). This identifies mines which are understood to be contributing to failures to achieve good ecological or chemical status in water bodies with High (red) or low (amber) confidence. This attribute was applied in 2020 and only to sites within water bodies identified as failing in the 2018 Water Framework Directive (WFD) Cycle 2 classification. </p>
