<p>The National Forest brand was launched with the announcement of 14 National Forest sites in Autumn 2020. The initial sites chosen were those from within the Welsh Government Estate that were felt to meet the National Forest Outcomes. These sites are managed and maintained by Natural Resources Wales.</p>
<p>These boundaries only show the geographical extent of the 14 National Forest Sites across Wales. <strong>These data do not show legal ownership boundaries or any potential land use change</strong>. </p>
<p>These boundary data have been derived from NRW’s Forester GIS data, and Ordnance Survey data in 2020.</p>
<p>This dataset <strong>should not be used</strong> for specific legal boundaries as it is derived data. </p>
